Provision of victim support and witness care services including emotional and practical assistance for adults and children affected by crime.

• Provide emotional and practical support to adults, children and young people and their supporting family members who have been victims or witnesses of crime, enabling them to cope with the immediate impact and recover as fully as they are able.
• Support adults and children affected by crime as a victim or as a family member or friend of a victim.
• Work with victims to understand the impact of the incident and support them to address the impact of crime.
• Support and improve victims’ experience of the criminal justice system.
• Provide trauma informed, needs led support that identifies and adapts to victims’ protected characteristics and diversity needs.
• Provide visible, accessible, clear and good quality information about support options to victims in Gwent.
• Provide mechanisms to listen to and receive feedback from victims.
