Healthcare service contract

Provision of community-based eating disorder treatment services for adults, including psychological therapy, dietary advice, and occupational therapy support.

  • Community assessment, treatment and management for adults aged 18 and above with moderate to severe anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder or EDNOS, whether acute or chronic
  • Psychological treatment, dietary advice and occupational therapy using therapeutic and evidence-based treatments
  • Consultation and liaison for adults with the specified eating-disorder diagnoses, plus a duty service during operational hours
  • A full range of NICE-concordant treatments and multidisciplinary treatment and care by qualified staff
  • Evidence-based early intervention, treatment and self-help, including intensive community treatment for acute or severe and enduring eating disorders
  • Physical health monitoring including weight, height, BMI and blood pressure
  • Flexible community-based treatment and support for service users, families and carers
  • Training and education about eating disorders for services and organisations, including GPs
  • Development of shared-care protocols with personality disorder, perinatal, mental health and non-statutory providers
