Cullompton Town Centre Relief Road

Civil engineering and infrastructure construction services for major road schemes, including bridge building, drainage systems, and highway realignment works.

• Construct a new approximately 1.3km relief road linking Station Road and Exeter Road via Meadow Lane, including a 2.0m wide footway
• Partially realign Meadow Lane and Duke Street and reconfigure their junction with a change of priority
• Construct a new four-arm roundabout connecting the Relief Road to Station Road and Millenium Way, and construct new junctions providing access to minor roads and adjacent properties
• Provide highway drainage, including surface-water drainage, attenuation basins, outfalls, hydrobrake chambers, treatment systems, culverts and a new swale/ditch
• Carry out earthworks for roadway construction, including approximately 16,000m3 overall fill and specified Class 6C, Class 1A and Class 6N1 embankment materials
• Construct full-depth bituminous pavement for the Relief Road and specified resurfacing to Station Road, Millenium Way, Meadow Lane and Duke Street
• Provide kerbs, kerb drainage units, a 2.0m bituminous footway, approximately 500m of 3.0m bituminous shared-use path, traffic signs, road markings, directional signs and double yellow lines
• Provide highway boundary works including timber fencing, Devon Bank, palisade and acoustic fencing, field access gates and acoustic infill fencing
• Provide vehicle restraint systems, including an N1-containment masonry parapet and minimum N1-containment VRS to both sides of the road between chainages 160m and 390m
• Demolish existing sporting facilities, the existing Bowls Club house and green, and remove existing Football Club sheds and lighting columns
