Provision of specialist Eye Care Liaison Officer services to support patients, families, and carers affected by sight loss.

  • Deliver ECLO services, in line with the RNIB ECLO Quality Framework and Practice guidelines, to people affected by sight loss, their friends, families and carers
  • Establish and maintain effective referral pathways to a wide range of relevant organisations and services and make appropriate onward referrals
  • Assist with certification and registration processes in line with Department of Health and Social Care’s ‘Certificate of Vision Impairment: Explanatory Notes for Consultant Ophthalmologists and Hospital Eye Clinic Staff in England’
  • Promote the ECLO Service as part of the induction process for new clinical staff related to Ophthalmology
