Provision of Liaison and Diversion Services in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Coventry and Warwickshire

Provision of multi-disciplinary liaison and diversion services for vulnerable individuals within the criminal justice system across the West Midlands.

• Assess people of all ages passing through the criminal justice system and identify those with mental health concerns, learning disabilities, substance misuse problems and other vulnerabilities as soon as possible in the justice pathway
• Provide prompt responses to concerns raised by police, probation service, youth offending teams or court staff
• Provide critical information in real time to police, courts, Crown Prosecution Service, probation, Youth Offending Teams and youth offending services for charging and sentencing decisions
• Provide comprehensive screening and multi-disciplinary assessment for all eligible identified individuals within a robust clinical operating framework
• Act as a point of referral and provide assertive follow-up so vulnerable people can access and attend treatment and rehabilitation appointments
• Secure referrals into mainstream health and social care services, voluntary sector organisations and other relevant interventions and support services
• Support individuals to engage with treatment or support services
